How Wordme works

  1. Pick a secret word. Any word of 4 to 8 letters: your favorite food, a pet's name, an inside joke.
  2. Add a clue or a message. A hint, a dare or a hello. It's optional, and it makes the challenge yours.
  3. Send the link. Your friends get 6 tries. After each guess the letters turn green when they're in the right spot, yellow when they're in the word somewhere else, and grey when they're not in it at all.
  4. See who got it. Every friend who plays lands on your scoreboard, with the number of tries and the time it took.

Yes. Your friends' guesses still have to be real words, so give them a good clue.

How do I see who guessed my word?

Open your challenge link in this browser and you'll see your scoreboard instead of the game. Your challenges are listed on this page too.

Do I have to give my name?

No. Leave it empty and you get a funny one instead, like Secret Squirrel. Your friends see that name on the challenge.

Why does the page turn dark?

Wordme is light during the day and dark at night, by your own clock. The sun and moon button at the top switches it.
